U-16.5 Hurling. Congratulations to our U-16.5 hurling team who had a comprehensive win over Mercy Mount Hawk of Tralee on Wednesday last. Played in Adare Co. Limerick in what can be only described as perfect hurling conditions, a fine display was produced by our team. The opening half saw an even spread of scores between both parties before Ennistymon picked up the pace and put in a clinical second half to see out the competition. A strong performance from all was evident, in particular Keith White, who excelled from centre back, Gary Twomey, Eoin Fitzgerlad, Aidan Mc Carthy and Cian Shannon all did well. Team: Dara McInerney, Dean Lynch, Marc Barry, Gary Twomey, Declan Brennan, Keith White, Shane Vaughan, Eoin Fitzgerald, Kealan Guyler, Tiernan Hogan, Aidan Mc Carthy, Cian Shannon, Jack O’Connor, Brian Fitzgibbon, Jason Deveraux.
Our German visitors Nils & Tim react with good humour, following Ireland's famous victory in last nights European qualifiers. Nils was quoted as saying, "for those last 20 minutes, I was Irish!"

Students of Ennistymon CBS had the opportunity to meet World Olympic Winner David Rudisha,s two coachers after school yesterday evening. Brother Colm O Connell and Mr Ian Kiprop provided the students with a workshop on the theory and technique of running. Brother Colm began the workshop with a talk on motivation which was followed by running session on the field with Mr Kiprop. He highlighted where the strengths need to be on order to be a strong runner.All students were very impressed with the expert knowledge shared by the two coaches.

All students in the school were recently offered a study skills workshop by Mr Enda O Doherty of Study Skills Ireland. Mr O Doherty, who has over 25 years of experience in the area of study skills, provided students with new stragegies and methodologies to tackle their study.Mr O Doherty also injected motivation into students who aiming to fulfill their potential.
Today a guest speaker from AWARE will visit the school to speak with our senior students.

2015/16 school year has begun and we are all very happy to welcome our new first years to CBS. We hope that you are settling in well to secondary school life. Remember that you have Mentors assigned to you and a class tutor to go to if you have any issue or a question.
We are very lucky this year to have a number of exchange students joining us. We have two boys from Germany Jawohl!!!
and two pupils from Italy and one from Spain.
This year we will be using Microsoft 365 and the whole school community will be given their own personal login details which will be needed to open any PC in the school. Go to Ms Campbell if you have not gotten your username and Password.

This evening our LC Grad mass was celebrated with Fr Pat Larkin in the Ennistymon Community Center. Brendan Keane accompanied by Deirdre O Brien provided the music for the occassion. Ms Kennelly wished the lads health and happiness for the future and told them as Monastry Boys there was always a welcome for them at CBS.

This evening we celebrated our School Graduation Mass for the class of 2015 with Fr Pat Larkin. Brendan Keane accompanied by Deirdre O Brien provided the music. Ms. Kennelly said a few words about each of our Leaving Certificates and wished them Health and Happiness in their future lives as they set out on their next chapter of life.

We wish to say a fond farewell to our three Exchange pupils. Popular students Emanuele, Martin and Mark will be missed on our school corridors. We hope you enjoyed your year at CBS and remember to keep in touch and to call back to see us again some day.

Awards Day 2015 has finally arrived. Well done to all the Pupils who recieved thier Awards today. This year we added some new categories such as VS Ware for Merits and ERST for school spirit. Mr Billy Keane sports writer for the Independent was due to give out our Sports Awards however he unfortunately got delayed en route to the venue.
Congrats to Seán Rouine who won Junior Sportsman 2015 and Cathal Frawley who won Senior Sportsman this year.
Gavin Marrinan won Junior Student of the Year while Jason Mc Carthy won Senior Student of the Year 2015. Well done to you both. Photographs can be seen on the Photo Gallery.

Today Ms Molloy and Ms O Brien will take a bus load of our second year pupils up to Dublin for a trip to the Dáil as part of their Junior Cert CSPE projects. They will be welcomed there by Senaor Martin Conway and Mr Pat Breen TD who will bring them on a tour of the buildings.
