Today we celebrated European Language Day in our school. We did a Quiz with the senior classes which informed them of the many styles of languages across the world and even the types of languages available to learn. In the younger classes we did a taster class of the different types for european foods available in ALdi to buy. For example salamis from Spain Italy and Germany as well as cheeses from Bavaria and the Netherlands. The lads all tried the famous Rye bread that is typical German and Croissants from France. Haribo Gummibears finished the tasting which left everyone very sweet! :}

Cispheil
Ar an naoú lá de Bhealtaine, d’imir an fhoireann cispheile in aghaidh na gairmscoile, Inis Díomáin agus Naomh Sheosamh, Rinn na Spáinneach. Bhí an t-atmaisféar leictreach sa halla in Inis Díomáin agus thosaigh an chéad cluiche ar a deich a chlog. Bhíomar ag imirt in aghaidh na gairmscoile. Bhí na foirne ar chomhscór don fhormhór den chluiche agus ag an deireadh, bhí an scór 22-22. Chuaigh an cluiche go ham breise agus tar éis trí nóiméad eile, bhuaigh Meánscoil na mBráithre 28-26. Sa cluiche seo d’imir Cian Fahy, Evan Flanagan, Mikey Rynne, Patrick Sheridan, Donnacha Farrell agus Eoin Bermingham go han mhaith ar fad.
Sa dara cluiche, d’imir an ghairmscoil in aghaidh Rinn na Spáinneach agus bhuaigh Rinn na Spáinneach an cluiche seo.
Tar éis an briseadh seo, bhí seans ag ár bhfoireann chun imirt in aghaidh Rinn na Spáinne. Thosaíomar go maith sa cluiche seo ach bhí cúpla imreoir den scoth ag an gcéile comhraic agus bhí siad cúpla pointe chun tosaigh ag leath ama.
Bhain na daltaí go léir an-taitneamh as an lá. Bhí sé an chéad uair a d’imir roinnt de na buachaillí cluiche cispheile agus bhí siad go léir ar fheabhas. Míle buíochas freisin do James Leigh, Ross Clair, Shane Vaughan agus Corrán Breathnach as an idirbhliain a thug cabhair agus treoracha do na daltaí ar an lá.
Maith sibh go léir
