There is a new focus on the Nature of Science which promotes greater engagement and thinking about how science works. The new types of assessments allow students to communicate the role and contribution of science and scientists in society. First and second year students have been designing projects in the form of posters, PowerPoint presentations, practical demonstrations etc. One such project asked the students to find out about the science behind the objects they use and the processes that occur in their everyday lives.
