First Year Basketball News

The 1st year basketball team took on the 6th class pupils from Mol an Óige school on Thursday 9th in a friendly match. This was the boys first game of the year. After a slow start, the CBS boys finished the first period level at 9-9. Tim Dyga and Ciarán Harrington were the main threats for the CBS. The 2nd period saw Brendan Rouine take some good scores in a very closely contested game.

With 3 minutes remaining the scores were tied at 23-23. Here the CBS boys finished well with a couple of scores from Killian O’Connor and Oisín Monaghan to win on a 29-23 scoreline. Well done to all. Training will continue every Thursday lunchtime and all new players are welcome.
