NHScholarship_Banner_L

To celebrate 50 years of Normoyle’s Pharmacy, Ennis and 21 years of RX≠ Pharmacy in Shannon the Normoyle Hillery Scholarship has been established to support the study of a science student from Clare. It applies to a student who is currently studying Chemistry or Physics or Biology in any second level school in Clare and
sitting the Leaving Cert examination in June 2013.

The fund is valued at €5,0NHScholarship_Banner_P00 and is contingent on the student receiving the required points to study a science course and accepting an offer in August 2013 from a University in Ireland or the UK. The fund will be dispensed over the years of third level study and requires the student to pass the appropriate college examinations each year. It does not cover change of course study.
Guidelines and application form will be delivered to all second level schools in Clare in March where Chemistry or Physics or Biology is taught. The first deadline is the completion and submission of an application form by April 30th 2013. An interview will take place late August/early September following the CAO/UCAS offers. Announcement of the scholarship recipient will follow promptly. Noreen Roche Normoyle qualified as a pharmacist from University College Dublin in 1958 and opened Normoyle’s Chemists in Ennis in 1963. The late Seán Hillery, pharmacist and former Chairman of Clare County Council, began his pharmacy practice in Sixmilebridge before setting up in Shannon in 1970.
Valerie Normoyle, daughter of Noreen, and Séadn Hillery, son of Seán, followed in their parents career footsteps. Now husband and wife pharmacists, they run Normoyle’ s Pharmacy, Ennis and Rx+ Pharmacy in Shannon and wish to honour and commemorate the work and dedication of their parents in their service to the community through the provision of the Normoyle Hillery Scholarship this year.
